The sweet and jiucy variety of tomato Fiaschetto belongs to the gastronomic history of Salento, the most southern part of Puglia. It was the base for the tomato sauce that every family family produced for winter.In spite of this , the Fiaschetto tomato risked to disappear.

The company Univerde under the trade mark Calemone together with the National Reserve of Torre Guaceto and Slow Food Alto-Salento thought of trying on again to cultivate this variety of tomato, using organic methods. The Fiaschetto tomato is cultivated at an altitude of only 15 metres and a few hundred meteres from the sea.

This ideal climate gives it is unique taste.
